What We Believe

  • We believe that God is at work in your life and the lives of everyone.
  • We believe that God is not done with us yet.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was sent from heaven to live as a mortal and experience all the things that a mortal experiences. He ultimately chose to sacrifice his mortal life to save our souls. We believe that salvation is a gift, but you must accept that salvation. And we believe that accepting salvation does not mean that you are done with the process; on the contrary, it means that you have started your spiritual journey, which is a life-long journey.
  • We believe in the two greatest commandments according to Jesus:  1) Love your God and 2) Love your neighbor as you love yourself. A core belief is that all we say and all that we do must follow commandment 2.
  • We are committed to inclusiveness and social justice, since we believe that is called for by Jesus when he tells us to love our neighbor.
  • We offer communion to all who consider themselves to be friends of Jesus. You do not need to be a member of our church, or any church. If you consider yourself to be our neighbor, then you are welcome.
  • Music is an integral part of a Methodist service. The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise, and we do so.
  • We support congregations and services in 3 languages on our campus and also see that as loving our neighbor.
  • We offer a valuable pre-school experience at a fair price, again seeing that as actively loving our neighbor.
